You have to capture the spirit of an established business with years of experience in the community. The established customer base has an understanding of the products, services, and sales process offered. The clients understand the current communication system. When you change or in this case add something new like a website, you run the risk of introducing some confusion in the communication you have with your customer.

You have to capture not only the spirit and history of the established business but also the spirit of the expanded new services within the website message. You have to bridge the gap between the old guard and the new.

Now the third generation is making its mark on the business. Moreover, wanting to expand not only the services they are offering but also bring the company into the digital age with a website.

Some customers may think it is a new company with new management and different services, products or different process.

I am working on my family’s business website, Chapman’s Marble-Cabinets & Flooring. The business has been around for 30 years and has a good client base.

I used Chapman's eight years ago when we built our house. One of our shower walls is pulling away from the wall and one of the sinks has cracks. When I called them for repair (which I was willing to PAY for) they denied they had done the installation and would not help us. I insisted I had been in the store and have a cancelled check for the work they did. When my husband called, the office manager hung up on him. I would suggest finding someone in Conway or Little Rock.
